Jianhua Xu, Ph.D., is chief of the Developmental and Cellular Processes Branch in the Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, where he administers research grants in the areas of cellular signaling in growth.
Before joining NIGMS, Xu was a tenured associate professor in neuroscience at the Medical College of Georgia.
Xu earned a B.S. in zoology and a Ph.D. in entomology from Nankai University, China. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta, Canada, and at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
