Interim support for unfunded renewal applications will only be provided in rare cases of unusual and extenuating circumstances. Such support will be based on an administrative supplement request for a modest level of funding for a short period of time not to exceed 12 months.
To be eligible for a supplement, the grant’s originally approved project period must not have ended at the time of the supplement request submission (i.e., grants in a “no cost extension” are not eligible to apply).
Potential applicants should contact the program director for the parent grant before submission.
Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis and will depend on the strength of the administrative supplement request, availability of funds and Institute priorities.
