Biographical Sketch: Kyungsook Gartrell, Ph.D., R.N.

Kyungsook Gartrell, Ph.D., R.N., is a program director in the Health Research and Development Programs Branch in the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she manages grants for the IDeA Clinical and Translational Research (CTR)​Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH), the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE),​ and Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) programs.

Before joining NIGMS, she was an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Gartrell earned a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Maryland and conducted postdoctoral research in biomedical informatics at the National Library of Medicine.
