Nathan Moore, Ph.D., is the NIGMS data science strategy coordinator in the Office of the Director. He ensures that NIGMS remains at the forefront of applying data science in biomedical research and using cutting-edge data science methods, tools, and technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and natural language processing (NLP).
Moore was formerly a senior data scientist in the Division of Data, Integration, Modeling, and Analytics at NIGMS, creating advanced AI/ML/NLP tools for the Institute. Prior to that, he was an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow at NIGMS.
Moore earned an A.B. in physics and mathematics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in string theory from the University of California at Berkeley.
