Biographical Sketch: Crystal Richards, Ph.D.

Crystal Richards, Ph.D., is a program officer in the Health Research and Development​ Progams Branch in the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she oversees the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) program and manages grants for the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) and Support for Research Excellence (SuRE)​ programs.

Before joining NIGMS, Richards served as a biologist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Prior to that, she was an assistant professor at Montana State University Billings.

Richards received a Ph.D. in microbiology and conducted postdoctoral research at NIAID.
