Lee W. Slice, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Scientific Review Branch. He manages a variety of special emphasis panels including ones that review K99 and Institutional Development Award (IDeA) grants.
Before joining NIGMS, Slice was a scientific review officer at the former National Center for Research Resources. Prior to that, he was an associate professor of medicine in the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Slice earned a B.A. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and at Hoffmann-LaRoche.
