Joyce Stamm, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Training and Workforce Development. She manages training grants in the Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (U-RISE) and Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) programs, institutional T32 predoctoral training grants in biostatistics, and the NRSA Individual Predoctoral Fellowships to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research. She also manages grants in the following:
Additionally, she administers the Diversity Supplements Program.
Prior to joining NIGMS, Stamm was a professor of biology at the University of Evansville. She received her B.S. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology and her Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, and biophysics from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and the University of California, Los Angeles, where she used biochemical and genetic approaches to study early development in Drosophila melanogaster.
