Executive Office, Division of Management (DOM)

NIGMS is recruiting for a Management Analyst in the Management Analysis and Policy Section (MAP) in the Executive Office of the Division of Management. This Management Analyst position supports exciting NIGMS programs such as: Employee Engagement, Training and Development, Workforce / Human Resources Support, Orientation Programs, Awards Programs and Events, and so much more!

The Executive Office in the Division of Management at NIGMS is home to the NIGMS Ethics, HR and Workforce, Administrative, Management Analysis, and Equity and Accessibility projects and programs for NIGMS. The Executive Office sits in the NIGMS Division of Management that is responsible for administrative support for the Institute including Information Technology, Communications, Budget, Administration, and Workforce Support and Development.

This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills as well as attention to detail. Strong customer experience/service abilities are a must, and exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across the Institute are critical.

This position has no educational requirement.

Division Director

Division of Training and Workforce Development (TWD)

This position offers an exciting opportunity to set scientific priorities, lead change, and improve the biomedical research enterprise. The TWD director is a key member of the NIGMS senior leadership team.

TWD funds research training, career development and diversity-enhancing activities through a variety of programs at the undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral, faculty and institutional levels. TWD is comprised of three branches listed below. The overarching goal of the division is to support the development of a diverse pool of individuals with the skills to be successful in the biomedical research workforce and have a significant impact on the health-related research needs of the nation.

The Undergraduate and Predoctoral Cross-Disciplinary Training Branch manages individual fellowship, institutional research training, and research education grants at the undergraduate, post baccalaureate, and predoctoral levels.

The Predoctoral Basic Biomedical and Medical Science Training Programs Branch manages individual predoctoral fellowships as well as institutional basic biomedical research training and medical science training programs.

Postdoctoral, Early Career, and Workforce Development Branch manages individual and institutional research training grants at the postdoctoral level, as well as career development awards. The branch also manages research project grants, professional meetings, research education grants and diversity supplements.

The ideal candidate will have a broad spectrum of scientific knowledge in fields related to the NIGMS mission and considerable experience in research, research training and activities aimed at developing a diverse biomedical and behavioral research workforce. Beyond that, NIGMS is looking for someone who has vision and experience leading change; is innovative, and has exceptional leadership, management, strategic and collaborative skills.

Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a field related to the division portfolio.
