The Biomedical Technology Branch supports development and optimization of innovative NIGMS's mission-relevant technologies and tools to advance biomedical research. The branch supports technology development from its earliest proof-of-concept stage to prototype development. It also supports optimization of late-stage technologies and dissemination of these technologies for use by the broader biomedical research community. Appropriate technologies may include, but are not limited to, instruments and methods for molecular and cellular imaging, structural biology, biomolecular analysis, and bio-inspired engineering.
The Biomedical Technology Branch also participates in BBCB Division management of center and resources that provide researchers access to a broad range of state-of-the-art biomedical technologies and tools.
