Science of Science Approach to Analyzing and Innovating the Biomedical Research Enterprise (SoS:BIO)

This program is jointly supported by NIGMS and the National Science Foundation (NSF) through the Science of Science: Discovery, Communication, and Impact in the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE).

The SoS:BIO program supports a portfolio of research to provide scientific analysis of important aspects of the biomedical research enterprise and efforts to foster an innovative, productive, and efficient scientific workforce from which future research discoveries and scientific leaders will emerge. Applications, which are reviewed by a joint NSF/NIGMS panel, are accepted twice a year. For details, see
NSF Program Solicitation 23-569​ and NIH Guide Notice GM-23-038. Please note that applications should be submitted to NSF.
