Biographical Sketch: Sheila A. Caldwell, Ph.D.

Sheila A. Caldwell, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she oversees the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) p​​rogram, and manages grants for the NARCH, the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) and the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE​) programs.

She was previously a program officer in the Division of Research Infrastructure at the former National Center for Research Resources. Caldwell earned a B.A. in international relations from Boston University and a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular oncology from George Washington University. She conducted postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute.
