Dr. Jon Lorsch will share exciting advances in basic science, focusing on the field of regenerative medicine.
Students will learn about density and create a visual of the topic.
The ArkanSONO Science Education Partnership Awards (SEPA) team will present an expanded technology focused STEM outreach session exploring the human brain using normal and Alzheimer’s brain specimens. In addition, a live EEG recording from a standardized patient demonstrating the localization of brain wave activity in various lobes of the brain.
The ArkanSONO SEPA team will demonstrate how ultrasound imaging can be used to peer inside the human body to see the heart beat in real time. Highschool student presenters will demonstrate a 3D reconstruction of hearts from CT scans of patients undergoing heart related surgeries (e.g., coronary artery bypass, stents, pacemaker implants).
Celebration of the way modern molecular science has rapidly pivoted to address the COVID-19 pandemic and provide strategies for effective vaccines and treatments.
Provides an in-depth perspective on the coronavirus and how we can protect ourselves and examples to address the issue.
