Jason Chan, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Scientific Review Branch. He coordinates the review of a wide range of applications for research capacity building and program project grants including the Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) and Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) programs in the areas of biochemistry; cellular, molecular, and developmental biology; and neuroscience.

Prior to joining NIGMS, Chan was a faculty member at Juniata College and Marian University, where he taught and performed research in cell and molecular biology, physiology, and neurobiology. 

Chan received his B.A. at Wesleyan University and his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Tufts University School of Biomedical Sciences. He also conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Southern California.
