Biographical Sketch: Manas Chattopadhyay, Ph.D.

Manas Chattopadhyay, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Centers, Resources and Research Support (CRRS) section of the Scientific Review Branch​. He coordinates the review of a wide range of applications for research capacity building and program project grants including the Support for Research Excellence Award (SuRE), Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE), and NIGMS National and Regional Resources (R24) programs in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry, cellular biology, and molecular biology. Before joining NIGMS, Chattopadhyay was a staff scientist in the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Genetics at National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. He earned a B.Sc. in zoology, botany, and chemistry from the University of Calcutta and a Ph.D. in biological science from the Bose Institute and Jadavpur University, both in India. Before coming to NIH, Chattopadhyay conducted postdoctoral research at the Jikei University School of Medicine in Japan.
