Andrea Keane-Myers, Ph.D., is chief of the Genetic Mechanisms Branch in the
Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, where she oversees research grants involving chromosomal and genome stability.
Prior to joining NIGMS, Keane-Myers was a scientific review officer in immunology at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Previously, she was the head of the Vaccines and Medical Countermeasures Department at the Biological Defense Research Directorate at the Naval Medical Research Center. Before that, she was chief of the Allergic Inflammation Section at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Keane-Myers received her B.S. in biology from the University of Richmond, and her Ph.D. in molecular microbiology and immunology from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She conducted postdoctoral research at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and at the Schepens Eye Research Institute, Harvard Medical School.
