Biographical Sketch: Tracy Koretsky, Ph.D.

Tracy Koretsky, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer ​​​in the Training, Mentored Research and Diversity (TMRD) section of the ​Scientific Review Branch, where she oversees the review of grant applications related to research, training and education, and research capacity. Prior to joining NIGMS, Tracy worked on retrotransposition in Schizosaccharomyces pombe in the laboratory of Dr. Henry Levin at NICHD. Dr. Koretsky earned a B.A. in biology from San Francisco State University and a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology from Carnegie Mellon University. She conducted post-doctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a visiting assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University where she pursued her interests in protein synthesis, aminoacyl tRNA synthetases,​ and ribosome assembly.
