John Laffan, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Scientific Review Branch. He is responsible for managing the review of selected research training, program project, center and research project grant applications and contracts.
Before joining NIGMS, Laffan was an associate professor in the department of microbiology at the College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University.
He earned a B.A. in biology from Hamilton College and a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from Wesleyan University. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Colorado Boulder.
