Linda MacArthur, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, where she oversees research grants centered on chromosomal and genome stability, and membrane biology and organelle biogenesis.
Prior to joining NIGMS, she was a senior scientific review officer at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Before that, she was a faculty member in the department of neuroscience at Georgetown University.
MacArthur received her B.S. in biology from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. from the department of microbiology and immunology from the Medical College of Virginia. She conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Mental Health and was a staff fellow at the National Institute of Dental Research, now the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
