Biographical Sketch: Linda MacArthur, Ph.D.

Linda MacArthur, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, where she oversees research grants centered on chromosomal and genome stability, and membrane biology and organelle biogenesis​.

Prior to joining NIGMS, she was a senior scientific review officer at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Before that, she was a faculty member in the department of neuroscience at Georgetown University.

MacArthur received her B.S. in biology from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. from the department of microbiology and immunology from the Medical College of Virginia. She conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Mental Health and was a staff fellow at the National Institute of Dental Research, now the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research​.
