Biographical Sketch: Marc Rigas, Ph.D.

Marc Rigas, Ph.D., is a program director in the cell biology branch within the Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. He administers grants in the areas of cell polarity, organization, and mechanics, as well as organismal r​esponse to environmental stressors. He also manages the F32 postdoctoral fellowships in cellular biology, molecular biology, and genetics.​

Rigas has research, administration, and teaching experience in data science, environmental health, and in multiple areas of bioengineering. Previously, he was a scientific review officer managing grant review panels at both NIGMS and at the Center for Scientific Review at NIH and has served a number of research program administration roles in government and academia.

Rigas earned a B.S.E. in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in bioengineering from Penn State University.
