Biographical Sketch: Michael Sakalian, Ph.D.

Michael Sakalian, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Biophysics, Biomedical Technology, and Computational Biosciences. He manages research grants in the biophysical studies of the viral life-cycle and in biophysical studies related to HIV/AIDS. He earned a B.S. in biochemistry from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from Cornell University. Sakalian conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
