Biographical Sketch: Lee W. Slice, Ph.D.

Lee W. Slice, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Scientific Review Branch. He manages the TWD-C Scientific Review Group that reviews applications for training programs. He has previously managed Special Emphasis Panels reviewing K99 and Institutional Development Award (IDeA) program grants. Before coming to NIGMS, Dr. Slice was a scientific review officer in the Office of Scientific Review at the former National Center for Research Resources. Prior to that, Slice was an associate professor of medicine in the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.

He earned a B.A. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego. Slice conducted postdoctoral research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and at Hoffmann-LaRoche.
