Biographical Sketch: Della White, Ph.D.

Della Brown White, Ph.D., is the clinical research strategy coordinator at the Office of the Director. She advises the Institute on clinical research priorities within the NIGMS scope and serves as a resource for activities related to clinical research such as biobanks, institutional review boards, data safety and monitoring boards, and ethical conduct of research.

Prior to joining NIGMS, White was a program director in the Clinical Research Branch at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. Prior to that, she was a program director in the Population Dynamics Branch and in the Office of Health Equity at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

White earned a B.S. in chemistry from Alabama State University and a Ph.D. in health education and health promotion from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She performed postdoctoral research at the National Human Genome Research Institute.
