Biographical Sketch: Jiong Yang, Ph.D.

Jiong Yang, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry, where he oversees grants in the area of synthetic organic chemistry. He also ​holds monthly Face-to-Face meetings​​​ with early-stage investigators.

Before joining NIGMS, Yang served on the faculty in the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University in College Station. He also worked in the pharmaceutical industry at Celgene and Eisai. Yang received a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry from The Ohio State University. He conducted postdoctoral research on chemical biology at The Scripps Research Institute in California and at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
