Biographical Sketch: Kevin Czaplinski, Ph.D.

Kevin Czaplinski, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. He administers research grants in the areas of chromosomal and genome stability. He also manages grants in the areas of extracellular matrix and cell adhesion.

Prior to NIGMS, Czaplinski was a scientific review officer for the Cell and Developmental Biology Review Branch at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Previously, he was an assistant professor in the department of biochemistry and cell biology and the department of anesthesiology at Stony Brook University.

Czaplinski earned a B.A. in biology from Rutgers University, and a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and microbiology from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He conducted postdoctoral research at the European Molecular Biology Research Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany, and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
