The Division of Training, Workforce Development, and Diversity (TWD) supports programs that foster research training and the development of a strong and diverse biomedical research workforce. The division funds research training, student development, and career development activities through a variety of programs. In addition, it supports the NIH Common Fund initiative, Enhancing the Diversity of the NIH-Funded Workforce. ​
