Biographical Sketch: Susan Gregurick, Ph.D.

Susan Gregurick, Ph.D., is director of the NIGMS Division of Biophysics, Biomedical Technology, and Computational Biosciences (BBCB). In this capacity, she oversees programs that advance biomedical technology development and that join biology with the computer sciences, engineering, mathematics, and physics. The division’s activities include supporting a comprehensive program in data science, a nimble and flexible technology development pipeline, and leading NIGMS' SBIR/STTR programs. Prior to joining NIGMS, Dr. Gregurick served as the acting director of the Biological Systems Science Division at the Department of Energy (DOE). She also developed and managed DOE’s Systems Biology Knowledgebase (KBase) and was a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Dr. Gregurick earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park.
