Krishan Arora, Ph.D., is a chief of the Networks and Development Programs Branch in the
Division for Research Capacity Building, where he oversees the
IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research (INBRE) and
STTR Regional Technology Transfer Accelerator Hubs for IDeA States, and manages grants for the INBRE, the
Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE), and STTR Regional Technology Transfer Accelerator Hubs program.
Before joining NIGMS, Arora served as an NIH program director for 14 years, first in the Division of Research Infrastructure at the former National Center for Research Resources and later in the Division of Scientific Programs at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. Arora earned a B.Sc. in biology from Punjab University, an M.Sc. in biochemistry from Punjab Agricultural University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Australian National University. He conducted postdoctoral research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research interests have included glucose metabolism in cancer cells, and signal transduction of G-protein coupled receptors.
