Biographical Sketch: Pauline Cupit, Ph.D.

Pauline Cupit, Ph.D. is a program director in the Research Advancement Programs Branch of the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she oversees the Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) First Independent Research (SuRE-First) Award program and manages grants for the ​​Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) and the IDeA Clinical & Translational Research Development (CTR-D) Award program.

Prior to joining NIGMS, Cupit was a scientific review officer in immunology and infectious diseases at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Before that, she was a program analyst at the NIGMS Division of Data Integration, Modeling, and Analytics. Previously, she studied the human parasitic disease schistosomiasis while serving as a research faculty member at the University of California San Diego and the University of New Mexico.

Cupit received her Ph.D. in molecular immunology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland,​ where she also conducted her postdoctoral work on engineering antibodies as diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
