Biographical Sketch: Yang Zhou, Ph.D.

Yang Zhou, Ph.D., is a program director in the Networks and Development Programs Branch in the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she oversees the IDeA​ co-funding and Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) programs. She also manages grants for the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE), the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE), SEPA, and the IDeA Regional Entrepreneurship Development (I-RED) programs.

Prior to joining NIGMS, Zhou was a health scientist administrator in the Division of Extramural Research Activities at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. 

​Zhou received her B.S. degree in traditional Chinese medicine in China, and a Ph.D. in pharmacology and toxicology from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She conducted postdoctoral research in cancer imaging at Purdue University and the National Cancer Institute.
