Biographical Sketch: M. Crina Frincu, Ph.D.

Crina Frincu, Ph.D., is a program director in the Health Research and Development Programs Branch in the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she oversees the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) Phase 3 program. She also manages grants for the COBRE, IDeA Clinical and Translational Research Network (CTRN​, formerly IDeA-CTR), Support for Research Excellence (SuRE), and Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) programs.

Prior to joining NIGMS, Frincu was the scientific initiative management officer at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences. She previously served as a scientific review officer at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research and a clinical research program specialist at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. 

Frincu earned her Ph.D. in chemistry from Georgetown University. She was a Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellow at the National Academy of Sciences and conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.​
