Kyungsook Gartrell, Ph.D., R.N., is a program director in the Health Research and Development Programs Branch in the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she manages grants for the IDeA Clinical and Translational Research (CTR), Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH), the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE), and Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) programs.
Before joining NIGMS, she was an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Gartrell earned a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Maryland and conducted postdoctoral research in biomedical informatics at the National Library of Medicine.
