Pauline Cupit, Ph.D. is a program director in the Research Advancement Programs Branch of the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she oversees the Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) First Independent Research (SuRE-First) Award program and manages grants for the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) and the IDeA Clinical & Translational Research Development (CTR-D) Award program.
Prior to joining NIGMS, Cupit was a scientific review officer in immunology and infectious diseases at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Before that, she was a program analyst at the NIGMS Division of Data Integration, Modeling, and Analytics. Previously, she studied the human parasitic disease schistosomiasis while serving as a research faculty member at the University of California San Diego and the University of New Mexico.
Cupit received her Ph.D. in molecular immunology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, where she also conducted her postdoctoral work on engineering antibodies as diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
